Aim of the course is to offer a good knowledge of European Union Law as a basis for further studies on European integration. It includes both institutional and substantive aspects of EU Law, i.e. origins, historical evolution, institutions and competences of the EU, legislative procedures and sources of EU law, principles governing the relationship between national law and EU Law; main aspects of free movement of goods, workers, services and capital. Within the discussions of the substantive law, the students are also introduced with the area of freedom, security and justice also to prepare them for the second course of the Chair on European and International Migration Law. Students who successfully pass this course and other courses of the Chair are awarded a Jean-Monnet Certificate by Bilkent University. 3 hours/week, fall semester, taught by Assoc.
